The Serbian beat the great clay courter, Rafael Nadal, showing that he could play on grass as well as some of the great names from the past. Djokovic claimed his terrific form over the preceding year was largely down to his gluten-free(a protein found in wheat and other bread grains) diet. His book, "Serve to win" states that a player's diet is as important as his physical training.
From being a player of rather suspect fitness at times,Djokovic increased his stamina, fitness, and strength, together with yoga and tai-chi, to become one of the greatest modern players- on all surfaces.
