In 2008 the old dot-matrix scoreboards at Wimbledon were replaced by more modern led display scoreboards.

With an outdoor rating, the panels can be used in all weather conditions – err, usually useful given the English climate. These displays are not only used as the scoreboard, but relay to the crowd the Hawk-Eye replays, player profiles and a variety of statistics, even tie-break scores.

In the early years of his career Agassi was regarded as a hothead, and at first refused to play at Wimbledon because he thought it was a stuffy old British tradition. The "Vegas gunslinger" had lost all his previous Grand Slam finals and became the first American to win Wimbledon since John McEnroe.

  Agassi was regarded by many as the   worlds greatest returner of serve, with   his unique style of half-volleying the   ball back before it had reached the top   of its bounce, and thus often catching   opponents still off balance in their   serving action. The American soon   showed his fragile character when,   upon  winning, he broke down as he fell   to his knees.
